Accessibility Statement

At Elpis Alliance for Veterans (“Elpis Alliance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we run elpisalliance.org like a pre-jump checklist: every page, button, and color contrast must be squared away before wheels-up. Our objective is plain—give every visitor, including those with disabilities, the same direct route to content, products, and donation tools that everyone else enjoys. No detours, no hidden hurdles.

What “web accessibility” means here

An accessible site works on common hardware + software (laptops, phones, screen readers, switch devices) without begging for special favors. When we say a veteran using a keyboard-only setup can buy a Sleep Ammo Box faster than you can say “last call,” that’s the benchmark.

Standards We Hit

We’ve aligned the retail pages with WCAG 2.1, Level AA guidelines. Translation:

  • Color contrast passes the legibility test—even in a dark ops palette (#1A1A1A with tactical red #D32F2F).

  • Logical heading hierarchy—no H4’s jumping the line ahead of H2’s.

  • Alt-text on every image (gear shots, not glamor shots).

  • Full keyboard navigation—the “Add to Cart” button is reachable without a mouse.

  • Motion kept to a minimum; nobody needs a flashbang on checkout.

  • Language attribute set to en-US so assistive tech knows what slang we’re using.

  • Videos captioned; PDFs tagged.

Anything we missed goes into the sprint backlog and gets fixed—not debated.
